A student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, was chased out of the exam hall for dressing like the popular Ghanian masked journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Anas, an undercover investigative journalist, is known for wearing a mask to maintain his anonymity. And a 200 level student of the department of Mass Communication at the aforementioned institution decided to emulate him. Of all places to wear a mask to, the student wore his to an examination hall.
The student reportedly said Anas Aremeyaw is his role model and insisted on taking one of his exams looking like the journalist he wants to be like in future. When he walked into the exam hall in a mask, his classmates were stunned at seeing that he finally followed through with his words.
The joke ended when examiners walked into the hall and saw him sitting with a mask covering his entire face. He was ordered to leave the class or the school security will be called to escort him out. At first, he hesitated but was eventually dragged out of the class by one of his coursemates who was upset that he was delaying the commencement of their exam.

It is not known if he was eventually allowed into the class for the exam.

President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana has defended his government’s approval of expanded military cooperation with the U.S., saying that it would enhance peace efforts in West Africa.
Akufo-Addo said the deal, which was approved by parliament in March and allows for the deployment of U.S troops and their military equipment in Ghana, was in line with previous international pacts and did not constitute an offer to Washington to establish a military base.
Opposition lawmakers boycotted the vote after failing to block its approval, leaving members of the ruling party to ratify it.
“It is our firm belief that the agreement will help enhance our defense capability, and offer an important layer of support in our common effort to protect the peace in our region,” Akufo-Addo said in a televised speech.
It was his first comment on a deal widely criticized by Ghanaians, including civil society groups and minor political parties.
Thousands of Ghanaians last week protested in the capital Accra against the agreement, in a rare public display of opposition to a growing foreign military presence in West Africa.
The deal will also allow U.S troops to use an airport runway that meets U.S. standards, and have free access to Ghana’s radio spectrum.
In return, the U. S. will invest 20 million dollars in equipment and the training of Ghanaian troops.
Akufo-Addo rejected assertions by critics that the deal would allow the U. S. to establish a military base in Ghana.
“So let me state with the clearest affirmation that Ghana has not offered a military base, and will not offer a military base to the U. S. of America,” he said.
“Indeed, the U.S. has not made any request for such consideration and, consistent with our established foreign policy, we will not consider any such request,” he added.
The Super Eagles progressed to the semi-finals of the WAFU Cup after they defeated host nation Ghana 2-0 in the final Group A match tonight in Cape Coast.
With the win, Nigeria finished second in the group with five points, a point less than already-qualified Ghana.
They will now battle the winners of Group B for a place in the championship game of the sub-regional tournament.
Guinea played out a 1-1 draw with Mali after they had led 1-0 by the interval.
Mali finished third on two points, while Guinea were bottom also on two points but with an inferior goal difference.
Salisu Yusuf’s team scored the opening goal in 52nd minutes through Anthony Okpotu after playing a goalless draw at half-time.
They doubled their advantage three minutes later through Plateau United left winger Peter Eneji, who has now netted two goals in this competition and was voted Man of the Match.

Stephanie Linus, the UNFPA Regional Ambassador for Maternal Health in West and Central Africa has taken her advocacy message to Ghana.
The award winning actress and movie director who is still in the West African country is attending a series of events on the invitation of UNFPA Ghana under the leadership of Mr. Niyi Ojuolape; UNFPA Ghana Representative, to advocate for quality maternal health care for women and young girls, resource mobilization for quality healthcare service delivery and encourage policies that protect the rights and dignity of the girl child.
So far, she has held a press conference, visited Radio & TV Stations and paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Protection Hon. Otiko Afisah Djaba. Today, she will be meeting with a coalition of youth organization to discuss some of these advocacy issues and will also attend the Glitz Style Awards later tonight.
Mrs Linus continues to use her platform to speak out against harmful cultural practices, tackle prejudice and push the world to do more to empower women and girls with the freedom, education and equal rights they deserve.

Yesterday, 6th of March 2017, is the 60th birthday of the Republic Of
Ghana, and as part of the jubilation, multiple award winning Ghanaian
singer, Bisa Kdei has decided to celebrate this season with Ghanaian
music lovers outside the country.
The current High life artiste of
the year and his crew flew to London as part of the Ghana @ 60
Celebration --- an event organized by Akwaaba UK and VIVA on March 4th
inside the Meridian Grand.
As usual, Bisa Kdei once again
entertained citizens of the world to the fullest with great songs and an
amazing performance; from the Live Band to the DJ play. He performed Saa, Chingam, Azonto Ghost, Odo Carpenter, Metanfo, Brother Brother, Mansa, Life, JWE, etc. and left everyone in the state of happiness before signing off.
Bisa Kdei's live band performance brought back memories of High Life music to patrons at the event. He is expected to be in Canada this weekend, March 11 for the Ghana @ 60 Unity concert.
Nollywood veteran actor, Hanks Anuku has reportedly switched nationality to become Ghanaian. According to AfricaFactsZone, he now bears the name 'Nana Kwame Fiifi Krakra Anuku'.
Anuku says he has found peace in Ghana and records have it that he hasn't returned to Nigeria for a long time now.
The 'former' Nigerian actor campaigned for Nana Addo in the 2016 elections. He said he left Nigeria due to instability, and God told him to go to Ghana.
