Events have taken on another dimension in the advocacy against human trafficking for Stephanie Linus. The Actress and Director who has been in Italy for a few days in partnership with the international medical humanitarian organization - Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and SOS Mediterranee, came face to face with the realities yesterday when she met one-on-one with some rescued victims of human trafficking.
She met with the women, listened to their stories and shared with them. It got even more interesting when the women decided to prepare a meal together, sing and exchange hand-made gifts. It was truly a heartwarming experience as hope was renewed in their midst.
Following her meeting with the women, she also visited United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office where she was given a deeper insight into the operations of the organization in Italy.

Nollywood actress Stephanie Linus is currently in Italy to advocate against human trafficking as it has become more rampant in recent times.
In partnership with international medical humanitarian organization – Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and European Organization for the Rescue of Lives in the Mediterranean – SOS Mediterranean, the actress visited the rescue ship Aquarius today.
Her visit was a very productive one as her and her team were given a tour of the ship, and afterwards, discussions on the overall need to educate people on the dangers of being trafficked and integrating the rescued victims back into the society followed.
She also had a press conference where she spoke about measures that can be used to curb human trafficking, stating that working together, can get the high percentage of human trafficking down drastically and hopefully soon, eliminate this world issue.

The Italian government on Tuesday deported 40 Nigerians for immigration and criminal offences. The deportees, comprising males and females arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 8:25pm aboard an Air Meridiana aircraft with registration number E1-FNU.
The deportation is coming few days after the repatriation of 23 Nigerians for similar offences, from the United Kingdom.
An immigration source said 39 of the deportees were returned because of immigration offences while one, a male was returned because of his involvement in drug related matters.
The source added that the returnee with drug-related issue would be handed over to police for further prosecution while others who were profiled by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service would be assisted home.
