Someone sent this and I think it's pretty cool. Lagos state Lasema Response Unit has started using drones to assess accidents before they go
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has launched a drone system to help assess accident scenes before their arrival. The agency made the announcement on Twitter, sharing a video of the drone in use on YouTube.
LASEMA has said the drones will help with medical supplies if the respondents run out of supply, especially in cases where recovery can go beyond 24 hours, for instance when a building collapses.
In a statement obtained by Inside Mainland, they said:
Once an incident is reported through the Lagos State Toll Free Lines (112 & 767), the drone will be deployed ahead of Emergency Responders to provide adequate information what to expect at emergency scenes.
This will then allow respondents organize and prioritize activities based on the severity of the incident.

The Lagos State Government has announced the restriction of vehicular movement during the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas elections holding across the state on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
The State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, in a statement on Sunday, said the restriction of movement across the state will be enforced between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, July 22, to allow for a smooth conduct of the polls and unhindered participation.
He explained that the restriction will allow the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission and the security agencies to distribute electoral materials in good time and ensure the sanctity of free and fair electoral process.
According to the Commissioner, the state is known for the peaceful conduct of elections. He, therefore, urged residents to be peaceful and orderly on Saturday and cast their votes in their respective wards for Chairmen and councillors who are expected to drive development at the third tier of government.
“The police and other security agencies are ready to ensure that the electioneering campaign and the voting on Saturday are conducted smoothly without public disturbance. Every political party, candidates and their supporters and the general public are hereby assured of safety throughout the period of voting and collation.
“However, the government solicits the cooperation of voters and the general public by obeying the restriction order and the general electoral rules in order to ensure a peaceful conduct before, during and after the elections,” Ayorinde said.
The release also quoted Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as urging Lagosians to perform their civic obligations by trooping out with their Permanent Voters Card “to once again demonstrate their belief in the tenets of participatory democracy and the importance of development at the local government level.”

“The government has decided to relocate Computer Village to ICT Park Katangowa in Agbado/OkeOdo LCDA,” the state announced during a press conference on Tuesday.
“The relocation will curb environmental degradation, housing stock deficit and traffic congestion in the Ikeja axis,” the government said.
In an Instagram post on Monday, comedian Asiri narrated how officers attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos Police Command “accosted” him and his friends “brandishing their weapons and pointing irresponsibly” at their car in the Ogba area of the state.
He said that they were delayed unnecessarily and their phones were thoroughly searched, adding that they missed an appointment as a result.
He shared the video/photos below and wrote:
I am putting this out to curtail the excesses of some irresponsible elements in our esteemed police force. Despite the immense effort of reputable men like @aleeygiwa These Lagos SARS officers with squad number 039 accosted us at Excellence hotel area Ogba at around 11:10 am.
They Came from nowhere brandishing their weapons and pointing irresponsibly at our car. We were delayed unnecessarily and every of our phones were thoroughly searched and our privacies breached.
I want to know since when carrying out your daily legal activities becomes a crime. And that part of the law that permits indiscriminate searching of phones. As a loyal citizen of this great nation, I demand answers.
