Forty-two contingents from polytechnics across the country
are participating in this year’s edition of the Nigeria Polytechnics Games
(NIPOGA) holding in Bida, Niger.
The participating institutions include those from Auchi,
Lagos, Sokoto, Nasarawa and Nekede. At the competition’s opening ceremony on Saturday, Abdullahi
Sule, the Rector of the host institution, Federal Polytechnic Bida, received
the Games’ torch.
It was handed over to him by Dr Hawlira Babalola of Federal
Polytechnic, Ede, the last host of the Games.
The opening ceremony was attended by eminent personalities
from the traditional and government circles, including the Emirs of Bida and
Agaie.
