A visiting Professor from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana,
Prof. Kafui Etsay, has congratulated the University of Ilorin on the level of
discipline in the University community, which, he observed, is evident in the
conduct of staff members and students.
Prof. Etsay gave the commendation during his valedictory
visit to the Vice-Chancellor on the completion of his staff exchange programme
to the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin.
The Ghanaian don said the Vice-Chancellor that he was
excited when he received an invitation from the University to embark on a
five-week academic visit to the Faculty of Education, adding that he had a
comfortable stay at Unilorin.
He said, “I learnt so much since I came. The level of
discipline really impressed me. The first person I met, who was a student,
carried my bag without knowing me”.
In his own comments on the activities of the Ghanaian don,
the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. A. A. Adegoke, expressed the
Faculty’s gratitude to the visiting Professor of Education Research,
Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation for holding classes at which he taught
masters and PhD. students and holding seminar for staff in the Faculty.
Prof. Adegoke remarked that the visiting educationist did
extremely well and expressed gratitude to Dr. Owolabi for making the visit a
success. He noted that the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the
University of Ilorin and the University of Cape -Coast was instrumental to the
success of the visit.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of
Ilorin, Prof. Abdul Ganiyu Ambali, who was represented by the Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. (Mrs.) N. Y. S. Ijaiya, thanked the
facilitators of the visit, which he said has contributed immensely to the
development of the Faculty of Education.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that test, measurement and
research methodology, which the visiting Professor handled, often present
challenges to postgraduate students.
