Contrary to what everybody is saying, I believe
there is a time to quit. I mean if there is a time for everything, then there should be a time to try and a time to quit. But quitting sometimes is not the best option, especially if you have not explored other options available to you.

  • TO QUIT OR NOT TO QUIT

There are five simple questions to ask yourself and by the time you are true answering them you may find enough ground to quit or not to quit. Whether it’s quitting in a job, or closing your factory, or leaving your job or something: quitting is an act that may be necessary in some instances. But before you quit ask yourself:

  1. Have you really prayed about this issue? You may have complained, you may have even murmured to God or whatever. But have you prayed? You know you have prayed when you have made out time to pray and study the word of God concerning the issue. You know you have prayed when you are certain in your spirit that God is in control of the situation and if that be the case, why quit? Why quit when God is in control? Doesn’t make sense!
  2. Have you sought wisdom concerning this issue? You may have Googled it or even told a few close friends about it but have you really sought out people who have handled similar issues in their life and conquered so that you can learn practically from them? Have you asked around for those who have had victory in this area or those with unusual insight in it? If not why quit? It simply doesn’t make sense to quit when you have not learned wisdom!
  3. Are you realistic with your expectations? Of course you will answer yes. People want to quit their jobs because they want to build multimillion corporations. Not bad, the problem is that building a multimillion corporation is not a child’s play or something you can wish out on the moon or stars. Sometimes, we want to quit our dreams because we are impatient or greedy. People jump from job to job sometimes because they have character flaws but they don’t want to admit that so they put the blame on the job or the managers. Why quit on a relationship because you are having very unrealistic expectations? It is unrealistic not necessarily because it’s impossible but simply because it’s not feasible looking at your experience, resources or orientation. Why quit?
  4. Have you done your best? Oh no! You will say yes. But I don’t believe you. If you have done your best, you should have got it done. But for the fact that it’s still there, it shows you may have tried but you haven’t really done your best. Your best is not a place or destination, your best is a continual progression and development. If you have done your best today, you have no future relevance because tomorrow will face us with something worse than yesterday’s. You know you have done your best when you win… winning should be your standard for determining your best. So why quit when you haven’t done your best?
  5. Can’t you just ignore this? We all have a tendency to exaggerate or run away from a potential fight. But before you quit find out if this is really something you cannot deal with. Is it not something you can endure? Can’t you overlook or ignore it entirely? If it’s not, you have to quit but if you can tolerate it why quit?
