Though he is old and does not give a damn dying in office,
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe always exhibit some high level of wisdom. Robert Mugabe has mocked America's decision to legalise gay
marriage across all 50 states by vowing to travel to the White House and
proposing to Barack Obama.
During his weekly interview with the national radio station,
the Zimbabwean president joked that he planned to travel to Washington DC 'get
down on one knee and ask his hand'.
Mugabe, who is known for his brutal crusades against
homosexuality, was responding in bizarre fashion to the Supreme Court's
landmark ruling that the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
guarantees gays and lesbians the same right to marry as heterosexuals.
In reaction to the American gay marriage support law upheld
recently by the United States (US) Supreme Court, Mugabe has promised to travel
to Washington to propose to US President Barack Obama in line with the new gay
law, Our source reports.
Meanwhile, below are some previous reactions of Mr. Mugabe
over the gay law;
On gay people he said:
"We ask, was he born out of homosexuality? We need continuity in our race, and that comes from the woman, and no to homosexuality. John and John, no; Maria and Maria, no. They are worse than dogs and pigs. I keep pigs and the male pig knows the female one.”
On gay rights he said:
"It is not worthy of discussion. Those that engage in such acts are insane. We cannot tolerate this, otherwise the dead will rise against us."
