During his one-day visit to the Republic of
Benin over the weekend, President Muhammadu Buhari, was present at a military
parade during Benin Republic’s 55th Independence Day Anniversary. Where he was awarded with one of the highest honours in Benin Republic - the Grand Croix du Benin meaning Grand Cross of Benin, by President Boni Yayi.
Following the awarding of the honour, the Special Adviser to
the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, took to Twitter to announce
that the honour was the highest national honour in the neighbouring country.
According to reports, the highest honour in Benin Republic
is the 'Grand Commander of the National Order of Benin Republic', which was
awarded to businessman, Aliko Dangote, in 2013 and President Bai Koroma of
Sierra Leone also got in 2014. This is the latest installment in a growing
series of goofs from the Presidential media team.
