American Pastor and Televangelist, Creflo Dollar was
attacked on the social media following a controversial interpretation of the
bible which forced the post out of the man of God's social media platforms.
Creflo Dollar had first sparked outrage when
he asked his church members to donate $65m so he can buy a private jet to
spread the gospel. And again, he is in
the news again for saying Jesus died so that everybody (including himself) can
enjoy “financial prosperity.”
Dollar's Facebook and Twitter accounts were updated on
Wednesday evening, 7th of October with the post that read:
"Jesus bled and died for us so that we can lay claim to the promise of financial prosperity. #ProsperityInChrist #WealthyLiving #AbundantLife"
While Dollar has been accused of promoting the prosperity
gospel many times before, this was the most obvious and blatant statement of
those beliefs. Soon, he was being heavily criticised in the comments under
the update as well as roundly mocked for the statement, which is so clearly at
odds with orthodox Christian teaching.
The statement was later deleted from his social media pages
without comment from Dollar or his team. While there seems to be no trace of
the original post remaining on his Facebook/Twitter pages, screengrabs were
taken of it which are readily available online.
