We congratulate Senator (Dr) Chris Nwabueze Ngige on his
well-deserved nomination for ministerial position after a painstaking process
by President Muhammad Buhari. We are thankful to President Buhari for his consistency in
recognizing competent hands who share the virtue of integrity with him,
to help
him deliver on the mandate of the new APC Federal Government without let or hindrance,
We have always known that Ngige would scale through when the
noble yardsticks of the present government for choosing those for such
positions ,which weighs heavily on competence and integrity are applied. Ngige’s Stellar performance as governor of Anambra State for
33 months from May 2003 was a period of rebirth and transformation for the
state and no doubt prepared him for the great esteem in which he is held
nationally.
His cerebral contributions as Senator of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, consolidated and expanded that reputation, and perhaps set
the tone for his current recognition. But even more important particularly for the government of
the day is that in all the positions held before now, including less national
assignments before his governorship assignment, Ngige has always left a legacy
of of superlative performance and very clean records which reinforces his
reputation as Mr Clean.
We recall with pride that like many governors Ngige was
thoroughly investigated and probed after his tenure as governor of Anambra
State, but never for once has any matter of wrong-doing been raised against
him.
We therefore see him as a great asset in an evolving great
cabinet and trust that the nation will tap from his abundant energy, drive,
doggedness competence and versatility which stands him in good stead for any
given assignment in the cabinet.
We salute our visionary leader in Anambra state as this
additional feather is added to his cap and trust that this is only the
beginning of great things to come to Anambra State through the All Progressives
Congress (APC).
