Grammy Awards 2016 - Nigerian Artistes Shunned As Nominations List Drops

Filed Organizers of the annual Grammy Awards have unveiled the nominees for next year’s edition. The award, which is the biggest music award event in the world, however does not have any Nigerian-based performing artiste on the nomination list. In the past, the likes of Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade have bagged nominations
but for this edition, no Nigerian act was considered for a nod. However, Nigerian-American singer, Jidenna bagged a nomination in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category which is a cheering consolation news. Femi Kuti has been nominated 4 times for Best World Music. The category has 2-time winner, Angelique Kidjo going head to head with South African Group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Anoushka Shankar, Gilberto Gil and Zomba Prison Project....
