In Zurich, come January 11th 2016, the awards ceremony of the Golden Ball Ronaldo will have hard time against Messi and Neymar in his race to win the third trophy in a row. The Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick tip, putting on the bulletin board this year the Golden Ball after winning editions in 2013 and 2014. We will see how the awards ceremony scheduled for January 11 in Zurich.
The Portuguese international has lived a very prolific life in 2015, becoming the 17th top scorer in the history of Real Madrid. Ronaldo, however, it will not be easy, to overcome rivals Barcelona, Lionel Messi and Neymar, in the race for the prestigious trophy.
Messi in 2015 is back in great shape, as usual contributing decisively to the triumph of the ‘treble’, with outstanding individual performance against Bayern Monaco in the Champions League and Athletic Bilbao in the final of the King’s Cup, scoring a goal that is earned him a nomination for the ‘Puskas Award’ (the award for the best goal of the year) along with Roma player Alessandro Florenzi and Brazilian Wendell Lira. Messi also was involved also with Argentina, which has reached the final of the America’s Cup, then lost on penalties against Chile.
Even Neymar, however, has proven to be decisive in Barcelona as much as Messi: the Brazilian, in fact, went in goal in every game that the Blaugrana played from the eighth to the final of the Champions League, scoring 39 goals between then Championship and cups. The 23 year-old former Santos has every intention to terminate the domain that Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo took the Golden Ball, with the two who have monopolized the trophy from 2010 to today.
This year’s awards ceremony, which will begin at 18.30, will be presented by actor James Nesbitt and TV presenter Kate Abdo. During the ceremony it will also be presented the award for ‘Best Coach of the Year’, which sees vying Monaco Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, the Barcelona Luis Enrique and the CT Chile Jorge Sampaoli.
