Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday invaded the residence of the immediate past Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko, in Abuja. Reports has it that the operatives of the anti-graft agency stormed the residence of the former Customs Comptroller General in two white colored Toyota buses with registration numbers RSH 555 ABJ, and BWA 645 GA.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Anti-graft personnel arrived at the house located at 6, Ahmed Musa Crescent, Jabi, at about 7 a.m. Mr. Dikko was not at home at the time of the raid. NAN reports that the mission of the personnel was not disclosed to any member of the family who were in the house. An operational van of the Nigerian Customs Service on guard duty to the resident was sighted a few meters away from the besieged residence.

According to our source, a heavy deployment of security operatives for operation comprising armed riot policemen was attached to the EFCC and gun wielding plainclothes operatives. Some of the armed operatives took positions at the gate of Dikko’s residence while their counterparts  were observed discussing in groups.

It was gathered that the operatives were acting on intelligence report to conduct the search on the residence of the former CG. When contacted, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC Spokesman said that he had not been informed of the search on the former comptroller -general’s residence.
