The National Universities Commission (NUC) has paused admissions into the law programme of the National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN), the NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Julius Okojie, made it know to the media.National Universities Commission (NUC) Suspends Admission Into NOUN’s Law Programme.

Okojie open up the information at an intuitive supper with newsmen on Thursday that the ban would be set up pending the determination of issues with the Council on Legal Education (CLE). The CLE has tirelessly refused NOUN’s law graduates from being offered admission into the Nigerian Law School.

The council has contended that the educating and investigation of law was clinical and it can’t be done by correspondence.

“This matter is being tended in light of the fact that it is within us, CLE and the college.

“In the meanwhile is stop new admission into that programme with the goal that they don’t have a build-up; we are resolving the issue.

“I should say that the law programme in National Open University (NOUN) was endorsed by the NUC; it is our obligation.

“At the point when CLE thought of the possibility of no part time law, NOUN did not think about law as part time programme by their mode; so they didn’t stop the system.”

As per him, NOUN’s law programme is not considered as part time as there is no need studying in the event that one won’t go to law school. He asked CLE to concede NOUN’s law graduates and give the school its amount of students they could accept.

Okojie affirmed that Nigerian students in the Diaspora were changing to nearby institution in view of Forex emergency as well as for enhancing standard of institution instruction.
