Monday was Workers Day 2017 and while you were home screaming ‘Yaaaay!’ to that, a number of Nigerians were actually digging in … at work.
Here are six of the busiest.
1. Yemi Osinbajo
He’s Nigeria’s Vice President. He may not exactly be at the office in Aso Rock but he’s working.
In fact, his workload may have doubled since President Muhammadu Buhari is ‘working from home‘.
2. That medical worker
Someone was in the hospital, under the watchful eyes of a doctor or nurse. Some received treatment at home, though. President Buhari probably falls into this category.
3. The Journalist
If the press takes the day off, who will run the news? Who will inform you about May Day rallies holding across Nigeria? Who will do that breaking news.
Who will tell you that President Buhari did not deliver Workers Day address. Trust me, no free day for the journalist.
4. That sex worker
Seeing is believing. Allen at 6:30p.m last night was testimony to this.
5. The Security Officer
Police is your friend. So is the soldier, and the civil defence officer. This guy cannot take the day off.
6. The Self-employed
If this person doesn’t work, who will? Besides, no food for you if you decide taking the day off.
