Governor Willie Obiano says his administration has not taken a single kobo as loan from any commercial bank.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this at the Governor's Lodge Amawbia when he met with Presidents-General and town-criers in communities of the state.
Governor Obiano who also revealed that his government did not take bailout from the Federal Government, said inspite of that, the State has under his watch maintained a stable economic base through his strategic partnership with the private sector.
In the area of community development, Governor Obiano posited that his 20 million per community choose-your-project initiative has brought about uncommon transformation at the grassroot, adding that by the time his eight-year tenure must have elapsed, every community in the state would have had at least six massive projects completed by his administration.
Describing the PGs and towncriers as the nucleus of information dissemination system in the communities, the Governor said it is important that they are aware of what government is doing in their localities so enable them effectively key in.
He assured them that his second term will witness increased efforts towards securing a better lease of life for the people at the grassroot.
Earlier in a remark, the Commissioner for Information and Communication's strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta explained that the decision by government to meet with the group is in recognition of their role as key stakeholders in the information dissemination business and reminded the PGs that they owe it as a responsibility to constantly inform the people that elected them of the programs and policies of government.
The President of the State Association of Town Unions, Chief Alex Onukwue while noting that Governor Obiano has distinguished himself in good governance, said it is only proper that Ndi Anambra reward him with a second term, adding that his effective engagement and partnership with the Union, stands him out as a people -oriented leader.
Also speaking, a former Commissioner for Information, Chief Maja Umeh asserted that the meeting will give impetus to government's efforts at fully integrating the PGs as its fourth tier.
In their separate remarks, a stakeholder in the state, Chief Chuma Okolo and a town-crier, Mr Ejike Methuselah thanked Governor Obiano for giving them a sense of belonging and assured him that they will deliver the task he had assigned them.
