Roland Ezuruike, Paul Kehinde win Gold, and Silver in Powerlifting at 2018 Gold Coast
Esther Oyema, Lucy Ejike, Roland Ezuruike, Ndidi Nwosu and Paul Kehinde have won five medals for Nigeria from weightlifting at the in Gold Coast Australia.
The five medals from weightlifting are three gold and two silver medals from the men and women’s lightweight and heavyweight powerlifting division.

Roland Ezuruike beat his compatriot Paul Kehinde to win gold in the powerlifting event of the ongoing 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Roland Ezuruike, Paul Kehinde win Gold and Silverplay Esther Oyema, Lucy Ejike, Roland Ezuruike and Paul Kehinde have won Nigeria four medals from weightlifting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia.

At the end of the event, Ezuruike had a total of 224.3 points to claim gold ahead of Kehinde who had a total of 219.9 points.

Kehinde beat England’s Ali Jawad by a distance as he had a total of 182.7.

Esther Oyema, Lucy Ejike win Gold, and Silver in Powerlifting at 2018 Gold Coast. Similar to the men’s powerlifting event Esther Oyema beat compatriot Lucy Ejike to win gold in the powerlifting event of the ongoing 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Esther Oyema emerged winner with a total point of 141.6 as she set a new world record at the end of the event.

Lucy Ejike won the silver medal with a total of 134.1 as she beat England’s Zoe Newson who had a total of 106.1 to bronze.

Ndidi Nwosu wins gold in powerlifting heavyweight category

Ndidi Nwosu has won Nigeria another gold medal in the powerlifting heavyweight category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

Ndidi Nwosu, Esther Oyema, Lucy Ejike, Roland Ezuruike, Ndidi Nwosu and Paul Kehinde have won five medals for Nigeria from weightlifting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia.

At the end of the event Nwosu had a total of 110.4 points as she beat England's Louise Sugden who had a total of 89.2 to silver and Kenya's Joyce Njuguna who claimed bronze with a total of 89.0 points.

The wins of Ezuruike, Kehinde, Oyema, Nwosu and Ejike in the weightlifting category means Team Nigeria now has a total of three gold medal and four silver medals after the table tennis team and shot put thrower Chukwuebuka Enekwechi picked up silver medals.
