The executive Director, National Film and Video Censors Board, Adedayo Thomas, has said that the next edition of Big Brother Naija should be hosted in Nigeria.

Thomas said this during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday, April 10. He expressed his displeasure at the show being hosted in South Africa, stating that Nigeria has what it takes to host the show.
"If it is Big Brother Africa, they can host that anywhere; but the one for Nigeria should be hosted in Nigeria," he said.
“Nigeria has what it takes to host the show; after all, there are many multinational/telecommunication companies hitherto operating hitch-free in the country."
according to Thomas, if companies like MTN are operating in Nigeria, then the organizers of Big Brother Naija have no excuse.
“If MTN, a similar South African company, has been surviving in this country, then I don’t think anybody has an excuse for not hosting BBNaija in Nigeria. They are making a lot of money from Nigerians here, so, we want them to host it here.”
Thomas also spoke about the constant criticism of the show by Nigerians, who consider it immoral.
“Parents can always block the watching of some scenes within a particular period or in totality. It is not government’s responsibility to assume the parental roles of moral upbringing of children in their homes,’’ he said.
Big Brother Nigeria made its debut in 2006, and was shot in Lagos Nigeria. 10 years later, the reality show returned as Big Brother Naija, and was shot in South Africa.

The ongoing season is its third edition, and is being shot in South Africa.
