Biafra Independent Movement-Movement for Actualization of State Biafra (BIM-MASSOB) has warned its members against engaging in violent activities during their 19th Independence anniversary scheduled for May 22.
The BIM-MASSOB, which described the anniversary as New Biafra stated this in a statement issued and signed by the Abia Zonal Information Director of the BIM-MASSOB, Mr. Anselam Ogbonna.
The statement which was obtained by LEADERSHIP, enjoined members of the BIM-MASSOB and supporters both home and the Diaspora to celebrate the anniversary in an atmosphere of peace and harmony with each other.
“Nobody or group is allowed to use the occasion to cause mayhem or breach of peace.Nobody has been mandated to close his or her business or cause mayhem in the course of the celebration,” the director said.
Ogbonna, who prayed for the repose of the souls of those who have died in the cause of the struggle, added, “What we required of them is only to dine with their families and thank God for keeping the Biafra flag flying”.
He called further called on Clerics who also believed in the struggle to henceforth start celebrating the actualization of their dreamland through Thanksgiving in their various churches.
According to him,
“No amount of thanksgiving to God in respect of what He has been doing for the people of Biafra since its establishment over 50 years ago can certainly be enough”.
