The Abia State Government has drawn the attention of the general public, especially Abians, that the Federal Government Survival Fund Programme aimed at supporting several small business owners, transporters and artisans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is accessed free of charge.
Chinenye Nwaogu, the State Focal Person on Social Investment Programme and the Senior Special Assistant on Job Creation and Youth Development to Abia State Governor, in a press statement made available on Tuesday, in Umuahia, alarmed that some unscrupulous individuals were trying to scam unsuspecting members of the public claiming all sorts of things.
According to the State Focal Person, “please feel free to report directly to me any request for any form of fee by anybody under any guise.
“As always, all Social Investment Programmes and other programmes alike come at no cost to the beneficiaries and in Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has made adequate provisions to ensure proper logistics and administrative machinery to deliver these programmes at no extra burden to the citizens of the state. ”
“Law enforcement agents have been properly briefed and are on the lookout for criminals who will want to take advantage of innocent Abians,” he added.
