A former Liverpool manager, Graeme Souness has picked Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne as the best player in the English Premier League.
The Belgian international found the net twice in Manchester City’s 5-2 victory over Southampton on Wednesday.
Souness hailed the Belgian after City sparkled in the attack with Riyad Mahrez also scoring twice and Ilkay Gundogan also getting on the score sheet for the league leaders.
Despite Phil Foden and Mahrez being in superb form during the game, De Bruyne earned the highest praise from Souness
“Kevin De Bruyne is an absolute superstar,” Souness told Sky Sports.
“Best player in the Premier League and everybody thinks he’s not at it! He’s had a bad night again hasn’t he?”
With his strikes on Wednesday, De Bruyne now has five league goals and 11 assists.
