1. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has sued the Federal Government over the recently gazetted Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, also known as CAMA. This was disclosed yesterday in a statement by CAN General Secretary, Joseph Daramola.

2. Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said the global body is concerned about Nigeria’s multiple exchange rate regime and its impact on international trade. The WTO DG said this yesterday shortly after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja.

3. The Q4 unemployment report released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS), yesterday, indicated that no fewer than 23.18 million Nigerians either did nothing or worked for less than 20 hours a week, making them unemployed during the fourth quarter (Q4) 2020.

4. President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, sacked the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Professor Sani Abubakar Mashi, and appointed Professor Bako Mansur Matazu as his replacement. The development was contained in a statement released by the Spokesman of the Aviation Ministry, Dr James Odaudu.

5. The Ogun State Police Command on Monday said it has launched a manhunt for the kidnappers of two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro campus, in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

6. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, yesterday said the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport would be reopened for international flights on April 5.
He disclosed this in Abuja at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

7. The Federal Government has described the reported formation of Biafra Customary Government by Asari Dokubo as a “theatre of the absurd by a joker seeking attention’’. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said this yesterday in Lagos.

8. The Kano State Government, yesterday, said it has arrested 200 street beggars and almajiris for allegedly violating the law banning street begging in the state. The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Zahra’u Muhammad-Umar, made this known on Monday.

9. The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 yesterday warned of a possible third wave of the pandemic that is ravaging some foreign countries. PTF chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, gave the warning on Monday at the joint national briefing.

10. Nigeria has recorded 238 new COVID-19 cases in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, made the announcement yesterday night while giving an update on its official website.
