1. Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, yesterday said his call for the recruitment of 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army was an error. His media aide, Tunde Rahman made the clarification in a statement on Tuesday.

2. The Presidency, on Tuesday, said that President Muhammadu Buhari did not embark on a medical trip to the United Kingdom for the treatment of any particular disease. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media Garba Shehu made this known while speaking on Channels TV programme on Tuesday.

3. The Federal Government, yesterday, declared Friday, 2nd and Monday the 5th of April 2021 as public holidays, to mark the Easter celebrations this year. Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, announced this in Abuja on Tuesday.

4. A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr Fabian Ngugban of Aye Twar parish, Agu Centre near Sai, Katsina-Ala LGA was reportedly shot dead yesterday by unknown gunmen.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, ordered the nation’s security chiefs to identify bandits, kidnappers and their sponsors and crush them. National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd), stated this while briefing journalists at the end of a meeting between the security chiefs and President Buhari.

6. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has warned detractors against fanning embers of disunity among Nigerians. Osinbajo gave the warning, yesterday, at the palace of Abubakar Shehu III, the Emir of Gombe, during a courtesy visit.

7. Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday, said he was opposed to alleged plans to elongate the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari beyond 2023. In a statement by his media adviser, Ola Awoniyi, the Senate president denied the tweet where he was said to have supported the amendment of the Nigerian Constitution to allow President Buhari stay beyond 2023.

8. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s routine medical trips overseas is an indictment of the failure of his administration to fix Nigeria’s healthcare system.

9. The Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, has said no fewer than 100 residents of the state are currently in different kidnap camps. The state CAN Chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab, made the revelation yesterday.

10. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 121 fresh cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The development brings the total number of confirmed cases so far to 162,762.
