Two policemen died in an auto accident at Eiyekorin area, along the Ilorin-Ogbomoso expressway, on Thursday.
Ajayi Okasanmi, Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kwara Police Command confirmed the mishap.
The officers were returning from Ogbomoso, in Osun State, where they had escorted a bullion van.
The spokesman disclosed that one of the tyres of the escort vehicle burst and rammed into a trailer parked along the road.
Those injured in the crash are being treated at the hospital, Okasanmi added.
The PPRO said the deceased had been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin.
In January, three persons, including two police inspectors, lost their lives in an accident on Ajaokuta-Ojodu-Ayingba road in Kogi.
The victims were travelling in an ambulance with a casket to pick the corpse of a police sergeant from a mortuary in Ayingba.
