Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has refused to criticize the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, for the way he was dismissed after only 18 months.
Lampard, in an interview with Willow Foundation, described his time in charge of the Blues as, “incredible.”
The ex-England midfielder was replaced by Thomas Tuchel in January, with Chelsea in the ninth place and five points off Champions League places.
“I’m absolutely appreciative of the opportunity I had to manage Chelsea.
“It was an incredible time. Everyone knows how I felt about the club,” Lampard said.
A run of five defeats in eight Premier League matches saw Lampard sacked.
Surprisingly, Abramovich decided to address his departure publicly.
The Russian billionaire described Lampard as a, “man of great integrity.”
