Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said he is looking forward to facing his predecessor, Unai Emery, when they face Villarreal in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Arteta replaced Emery at the Emirates over a year ago.
Both men will now face each other for a place in the Europa League final.
Arsenal defeated Slavia Prague 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals on Thursday, while Villarreal saw off Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 on aggregate.
Emery guided Arsenal to the Europa League final, but was sacked after a run of poor results the next season.
Arteta has now hailed his compatriot as “most successful” manager in the Europa League’s history.
“Yes it wil be really tough. Villarreal are a top team and Unai is probably the most successful manager in this competition.
“He totally deserves that. We know the opponent we are facing and now focus on Fulham.
“We won’t have any time to train or anything, we just make sure the players recover and activate them so they’re ready to go again,” Arteta told BT Sport.
