The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Friday flooded the seven Internally Displaced Persons IDPs camps with relief items as part of activities to mark his 60th birthday.
The Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Emmanuel Shior who made the distribution on behalf of the governor, said the items would be distributed under the supervision of the Ortom’s appointees.
The SEMA Boss stressed that, the distribution of the relief materials was in line with the Governor’s concern for the IDPs as well as his passion to humanity.
Earlier, the governor met with some widows, orphans and people with disabilities at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House Makurdi, the state capital.
DAILY POST had reported that Governor Ortom, his wife, Dr Eunice Ortom and other top officials were at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Gboko Road, Makurdi to thank God for his diamond age.
