Arsenal have decided to let Mikel Arteta remain as Gunners manager despite their crashing out of the Europa League in the semi-final, according to Eurosport.

The Gunners have assured the Spaniard his future is safe at Emirates.

Arsenal were beaten 2-1 in Spain in the first leg and were held to a goalless draw at the Emirates in the second fixture.

Winning the competition was Mikel Arteta’s side’s only hope of playing in the Champions League next term.

However, their failure on Thursday means that Arsenal will be without any form of European football next season.

However, the board members have decided that the Spaniard will continue as the club’s boss despite the outcome.

The newspaper further claimed that the board are even prepared to give the former Manchester City assistant manager extra funds this summer in light of the recent supporters’ protests against Kroenke’s ownership of the club.

The board, according to the report, believe that top players will still want to join the club despite their failure to qualify for Europe.

The Gunners are currently ninth in the table and they’ve played a game more than Everton in eighth.
