Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has said his team failed to qualify for the Europa League final because of small details.
The Gunners played out a 0-0 draw with Villarreal on Thursday night, bowing out on a 2-1 aggregate defeat.
Arteta, speaking after the game, insisted they tried everything but failed to put the ball in the back of the net.
“We are devastated, really disappointed, but we have to congratulate Villarreal. We tried everything until the last minute.
“I think over two legs and what happened today in the second-half, I think we deserved to win the game, but the details defined this tie.
“When we had the opportunities, we didn’t score. We hit the post twice, we had three big chances. They didn’t have anything but they are through,” Arteta told BT Sport.
