The Department of State Service (DSS) in Imo State says it will provide critical intelligence support to the state government’s fight against insecurity in the State.
Mr Oguwike Nwachukwu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday in Owerri.
Nwachuku quoted Dr Wilcox Idaminabo, the DSS Director in the State, to have made the promise when Governor Hope Uzodinma visited the agency’s headquarters in Owerri.
Idaminabo was said to have told Uzodinma that the agency’s poise to assist him in fighting insecurity was meant to reciprocate his support to the DSS.
In a speech, the Governor thanked the DSS for being dependable partners in securing Imo.
Uzodinma also praised the agency for responding to the demand of its statutory role, notwithstanding the paucity of funds to work with.
He further said his administration would always support the agency to discharge its duties.
