As Muslim faithful in Nigeria join their counter parts across the world to celebrate this year’s eid-el-Kabir, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has urged residents of the state to be steadfast and be committed to an indivisible country.

While urging the Muslim faithful to pray for peace and harmony in the country, Akeredolu implored that the sprit and lessons of the season must reflect not only in the lives of the people but as well that of the nation.

Akeredolu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde said the celebration “brings to mind the significance of sacrifice and love.”

While adding that love and harmonious relationships must be exhibited among Nigerians, Akeredolu disclosed that it would further enhance unity in the country.

“Understanding that unity is strength, let us use this occasion to offer ceaseless prayers for the growth and development of the country through sustained peace,” he said.

He also urged them to celebrate with caution by avoiding crowded gatherings.

He charged them to always follow all the laid down safety protocols of Covid-19 pandemic so as to contain the spread of the deadly virus in the wake of the third wave.
