1. The Federal Government has said the ban on operations on micro blogging platform, Twitter, will be lifted “in a matter of days”. Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, gave this update after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

2. The Federal Government yesterday, approved Federal Roads and Bridges Tolling Policy and Regulations, presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi has said. According to Ogunlesi, who is a Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, the government made the decision on Wednesday at a Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

3. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday refused to grant an order of interim injunction sought by former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, against the EFCC, and the Imo State Government stopping them from confiscating his properties located in various parts of the country.

4. Immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, says he is not interested in returning to the position he left about one year ago. This was contained in a statement titled ‘Leave Oshiomhole out of APC leadership debate’, signed by his Senior Media Aide, Victor Oshoke, on Wednesday.

5. Tears flowed on Wednesday when bulldozers belonging to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), rolled into Mpape community in Abuja, demolishing about 2,000 shanties, containers and other alleged illegal houses. Chairman, FCT Ministerial Committee on City Sanitation, Attah Ikharo said the decision was to clean up the city.

6. The WHO yesterday announced that three new drugs are being tested in the latest phase of global Solidarity clinical trials to find an effective treatments against COVID-19. Speaking during a press conference in Geneva, WHO’s Director-General, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, underscored the vital need to find more effective and accessible coronavirus therapeutics.

7. Unidentified gunmen suspected to be notorious abductors on Wednesday, kidnapped a nursing mother and her eight-month-old baby in Gusau, Zamfara State. The state Police Command’s Spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident.

8. Twitter, yesterday said that it looks forward to Nigeria lifting the suspension on its services after an advanced negotiation. US-based social medium, in a statement on Wednesday confirmed that it recently met with the Nigerian government to discuss the ban and how to resolve the matter.

9. Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has said the education and health sectors would collapse if NYSC is scrapped. He gave the warning in a chat with journalists shortly after the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremony of 1,332 members of 2021 batch ‘B’ (stream 1) deployed to Kaduna State.

10. The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali on Wednesday said that investigation has begun to unearth the circumstances that led to the killing of eight persons and many others injured, when the brake of a Customs patrol van failed while in motion in Katsina State. He described the accident as unfortunate.
