1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a failure. Buhari had on Thursday, met with service chiefs and charged them to double their efforts, saying he did not want to leave office as a failure. In a statement on Friday, the PDP through its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, described Buhari’s submission as medicine after death.

2. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday reappointed Ishaq Oloyede as Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for a second term. Director, Press and Public Affairs, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Bem Goong, in a statement on Friday, said the appointment was based on the recommendation by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

3. Gunmen on Friday morning ambushed and allegedly killed five farmers on their way to farm at Modakeke community, Osun State. The Osun police spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

4. At least 20 private jets conveyed dignitaries to Kano for the wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son yesterday. Yusuf, Buhari’s only son, got married to Zahra, daughter of the Emir of Bichi on Friday.

5. The Federal government yesterday, disclosed why surrendered Boko Haram members cannot be killed. Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture said granting amnesty was the best thing to do, explaining that prosecuting and killing repentant insurgents was against global best practices.

6. The National Youth Coordinator of the PDP youths, Usman Okai Austin, has alleged that APC governors are “lobbying, romancing, and begging” former President Goodluck Jonathan to join the ruling party. Okai said this in an interview with DAILY POST.

7. Two rival kidnapping groups Friday clashed in Kaduna State, resulting in the death of nine bandits. Confirming the development on Friday, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan said, nemesis caught up with the two groups of armed bandits who in a fratricidal gun duel killed nine of their fellows.

8. Anita Okoye, wife of Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rude Boy, has filed a petition for divorce. This was revealed in a leaked petition which cited irreconcilable differences as the basis of the irretrievable breakdown of the seven-year-old marriage.

9. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, sealed a property belonging to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso on Miller Road in Kano metropolis. According to reports, the sealing was a follow-up on a petition sent to the commission by some members of the family of Ismaila Gwarzo, a former National Security Adviser.

10. Two lecturers of Abia State University, Uturu were abducted along ABSU-Isuikwuato road in Umuahia, the state capital, on Thursday evening. Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Uturu, V. U. Nkemdirim confirmed the incident.
