The Osun State House of Assembly has passed into law three bills, the Osun State Legislative Funds Management Bill, Osun State Judiciary Funds Management Bill and the Osun State Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice (Regulation) Bill 2021.

The three bills were passed into law, Wednesday, at the plenary of the House of Assembly in Osogbo.

The House of Assembly Autonomy Bill, the State Judiciary Autonomy Bill and the Osun State Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice (Regulations) Bill were passed into law after the Majority Leader of the House, Maroof Olanrewaju moved a motion on its passage by the House.

In the three motions, Adebayo Uzamot representing Iwo State Constituency, seconded the motion for the passage into law of the Osun State House of Assembly Bill, while Babatunde Komolafe representing Atakumosa East/West State Constituency and Elizabeth Abioye representing Ifedayo State Constituency seconded the motions for the passage into law of the Osun State Judiciary Funds Management Bill and the Osun State Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice (Regulation) Bills.

The Speaker, Timothy Owoeye while congratulating both the legislative and the judicial arms of government for gaining autonomy, stated that the 7th House of Assembly would continue to make development laws for the State.

Owoeye, who noted that the bills were for the development of the two arms of government, added that the bill would guarantee good management of funds for both arms of government.

In his words, “Both the legislative and the judicial arms of government should be different in all things.

“With the passage of the House of Assembly Autonomy Bill, the House will have the opportunity to carry out its affairs without interference.”

He also disclosed that with the passage of the Judiciary Autonomy Bill, the judiciary would have the opportunity to discharge their constitutional duties fairly without undue interference.

The passage of the Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice Regulations Bill, the Speaker also said, would put an end to the unprofessional conduct of veterinary doctors.

He explained that the bill would put a stop to illegal abattoirs and the slaughtering of sick animals within the State.
