The Osun State Audits Amendments bill was passed into law on Wednesday.
This is following a motion moved at Plenary by Babatunde Komolafe and seconded by Israel Oyekunle representing Ejigbo State Constituency, respectively, after the third reading.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Timothy Owoeye noted that the bill will be for the benefit of the state.
He explained that the bill would allow for transparency and prudence in producing Auditor Generals and for the position to be open to qualified persons in the state.
In enumerating the qualities of the bill, the House Majority Leader, Maroof Olanrewaju noted that the bill which had once been passed into law in 2019, would eliminate wasteful resources, give room for employment and allow due process in appropriation.
Also, a second tenure for the Auditor General is one of the provisions of the bill.
