20-year-old man, Rasaq Mukaila has been arraigned before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for the alleged theft of a Motorcycle.
The accused person who pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of stealing and a breach of public peace allegedly committed the offence on October 4, around 3:00pm at Alabata in Ifegbemi village near Ile-Ife.
The prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the accused person stole a Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle with Reg. No. FFE 194 QF; valued N295,000, property of one Abiodun Odeyemi.
He further alleged that Abdullahi conducted himself in a manner likely to have caused mayhem when he stole the motorcycle where it was parked by the owner.
The offences committed contravened Sections 249(d) and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defence counsel, Mr Okoh Wonder, prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal term, pledging that his client would not jump bail, but would provide reliable sureties.
In her ruling, Magistrate Oluwatosin Adediwura granted the accused person bail in the sum of N300,000 with one surety in like sum.
Adediwura said that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means, resides within the court’s jurisdiction, produce three years’ tax clearance certificate as well as present three recent passport photographs.
The case was adjourned till December 1, for hearing.
