The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Emmanuel Ocheja has reiterated the readiness of the corps to train its personnel on intelligence gathering and reporting.

Ocheja made this known at the completion of a two-day capacity building training organised for Intelligence Officers.

At the training, which came up between October 28 and 29, 2021, the Commandant said it came up because it was inline with the vision of the Commandant General, aimed at promoting the training and retraining of personnel for effective service delivery.

The Osun NSCDC boss also explained that the essence of the two-day capacity building programme was to improve the officers’ security awareness and enhance productivity.

According to Ocheja, who is an intelligence gathering and reporting expert, “The intelligence department belongs to a family and it is meant to feed other departments with information in order to achieve the corps’ mandates.”

The Head of Intelligence Department in the State Command, Augustine Padonu maintained that the writing of a good security report was one of the major responsibility of any security officer.

He added that proactive intelligence must be brief, informative and timely.
