President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathized with the National Assembly and the Ekiti State government over the passing of Sen. Gbenga Aluko.

The President shared in the grief of Aluko’s death on Saturday, urging family, friends and political associates to find solace in God and the antecedents of the former lawmaker.

Buhari’s condolence was contained in a statement by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Sunday.

The President also commiserates with the members of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the people of Ekiti State, on the loss of the political leader, who served his state and the nation.

Buhari said Aluko was dutifully committed to improving the lot of his community.

He, however, prayed for the repose of his soul, and comfort for the family.

DAILY POST had reported that Aluko slumped and died in Abuja on Saturday.

The Ode-Ekiti-born politician and businessman died on Saturday in Abuja aged 58 years.

The late Senator Aluko carved an identity for himself as a successful corporate player who got elected into the Senate of the Federal Republic in 1999 at the age of 36 years.
