Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers:

1. At least, 11 people have been killed while 13 others sustained various degrees of injury when gunmen attacked communities in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. The police spokesman in Katsina, SP Gambo Isa, said bandits in their numbers, attacked the community with AK 47 rifles and gunned down 11 residents.

2. President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to work with relevant French authorities in order to degrade international criminal networks. Buhari made the promise Wednesday in Paris, France, while speaking at a working lunch at Palais Elysee with President Emmanuel Macron.

3. Residents of Askira town in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State fled when Boko Haram fighters attacked a village on Wednesday. While some residents fled into bushes and surrounding mountains for safety, a military convoy reportedly escorted the traditional ruler of the area out of the town.

4. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will spend Christmas in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). When he was re-arraigned on Wednesday, Kanu complained that some members of his legal team were not allowed in court but the judge asked if he was ready to defend himself, to which he responded negatively.

5. The Senate on Wednesday approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s loan request of $16, 230, 077, 718 billion, €1,020,000,000 billion, under the 2018-2020 External Borrowing plan. A statement signed by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s spokesman, Ezrel Tabiowo, said the approval followed the consideration of a report by the House Committee on Local and Foreign Debt.

6. Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night stormed Anara market in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State and shot at sight. An eyewitness said the gunmen who came in a Siena vehicle, shot repeatedly at a restaurant in the area and zoomed off.

7. The Federal Government may consider all kinds of solutions, including political ones, in order to resolve the crisis surrounding separatist agitations in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Wednesday in an interview with journalists in Abuja.

8. The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a training camp used by an illegal Military outfit known as the Nigerian Merchant Navy, in the Ogudu Stanfield area of the State. Commanding Officer of the unit, Sunday Dakare, 47, was arrested alongside 107 youths: both males and females between ages 19 and 47, who were undergoing training.

9. Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP, Monday Bala Kuryas, has paraded ten suspected kidnappers and recovered about 500 Cattle rustled by suspects in Lapai Local Government area of the state. Kuryas, who stated this in Minna while parading the suspects, said they were arrested based on information from a credible source.

10. Two more bodies have been recovered from the scene of the 21-storey building which collapsed last Monday in Ikoyi, Lagos, the state government announced yesterday. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, in an update last night also said contrary to speculations, no directive has been given for the demolition of the two high-rise buildings standing at the site of the 21collapsed storey building in Ikoyi, Lagos.
