Watford striker, Emmanuel Dennis has become the first Hornets player to score in three Premier League games in a row since February 2017.

The last Watford player to score in three consecutive Premier League matches was club legend Troy Deeney in February 2017.

Dennis scored Watford’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday night at Vicarage Road.

The 24-year-old overcame an injury scare after he was substituted in Watford’s 4-2 loss against Leicester City last Sunday.

The Nigerian international then featured against Thomas Tuchel’s men in midweek.

Dennis started for Claudio Ranieri’s men and cancelled out Mason Mount’s opener with his equaliser in the 43rd minute.

His effort against Chelsea was his sixth league goal so far as he continues to enjoy a great debut campaign in the English top-flight league and becomes Watford’s leading goalscorer this season.

Watford suffered a second straight loss against Chelsea as Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech came off the bench to secure maximum points for the Blues.

The defeat against Chelsea left Watford unmoved in the 17th position while Tuchel’s side maintained their dominance at the top of the league table with 33 points after 14 matches.
