1. Two persons have been killed while “more than 50” have been abducted in an attack in Unguwan Gimbiya community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. An eyewitness who craved anonymity said the incident happened in the early hours of Friday.

2. The Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions has lamented that highly-placed Nigerians were frustrating the effort of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) to recover N4.4 trillion owed the agency. The committee’s chairman, Senator Uba Sani (APC, Kaduna), said this at a stakeholders’ meeting.

3. The crisis raging in the Kano State All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken another dimension with the petition sent to the Inspector General of Police by a former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau over the razing of the campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin (APC, Kano North).

4. Lagos State Government has ordered the closure of Dowen College in Lekki over the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr. On Friday, Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo announced the shut down of the college.

5. There was palpable fear in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Friday as an officer of the Nigeria Police allegedly shot a truck driver to death. An eyewitness told reporters that the deceased who was driving a Shekeena Global borehole drilling truck was brutalized before he was shot dead at the Ota-Efun area in Osogbo.

6. The Police Command in Akwa Ibom State says it has arrested one fake doctor and a man parading himself as a soldier in Akwa Ibom. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, disclosed this in a statement issued in Uyo on Friday.

7. President Muhammadu Buhari has called for global collaboration and partnership to curb the catastrophic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. President Buhari made the call on Friday at the Nigeria Day during the ongoing EXPO DUBAI 2020, holding in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai.

8. Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, was under heavy attack by Boko Haram terrorists on Friday. Malam Fatori is one of the two LGAs without human activities where Governor Babagana Zulum had insisted on returning displaced persons by December 31.

9. Sylvester Oromoni Snr has revealed that a black liquid was found in his son’s stomach during the autopsy on his corpse. His son, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr was allegedly beaten by fellow students of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos which resulted in his eventual death.

10. Following apprehensions over the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Federal Government has advised vaccinated Nigerians to take booster shots effective from December 10. The Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said that the booster shots were only for persons who have completed two doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna or one dose of Johnson and Johnson.
