Chief Dele Momodu has been conferred an Ambassadorial Award for the "Care and Rights of Elderly in Nigeria"
This special recognition came from a former World Court Judge, PRINCE BOLASODUN AJIBOLA who's the chairman of the Senior Citizens Care Foundation.

The immediate former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Governor Wike and Nigeria Musician, Wizkid have been nominated for the 2018 edition of the Peace Achievers Awards.
Mr Kingsley Amafibe, the Project Director of Peace Ambassadors Agency, organisers of the annual awards, made this known in Abuja.
The event has been scheduled to hold in September at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
According to him, Governor Aminu Masari, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Abdul Samad Rabiu of BUA Group were among the nominees too.
Other nominees for the award included Comedian Bovi, Preye Berezi, Ini Edo, Akinaka Richard, Engr. Gesi Asamaowei and many others.
He stressed that the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike would be honoured with the ‘Award for Excellence in Peacekeeping and Development’ for his efforts at maintaining peace in Rivers State.
He noted that since the inception of Nyesom Wike as the Governor of Rivers State, peace has returned to hitherto troubled areas in Rivers State while sustained developmental strides could be seen everywhere in the state.
“Gov. Wike has proven that he is committed to Nigeria’s Peace and Unity, by leading his men to fight and curb the activities of insurgents in the State and other forms of criminality across the state.
Amafibe explained that although there are lots of patriotic men and women who have contributed meaningfully in the peacebuilding project in Nigeria, it was imperative to honour the ‘outstanding’ ones.

The MTV Movie and TV Awards gave “Black Panther” its first taste of awards glory, with Marvel’s blockbuster taking home four honors including two awards for its star, Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman quickly handed off his best hero award to James Shaw Jr., who wrestled an assault-style rifle away from a gunman in a Tennessee Waffle House in April. “This is going to live at your house,” Boseman told Shaw, giving him the show’s golden popcorn award.
The actor said while it was an honor to be recognized for playing a superhero, it was more important to “acknowledge the heroes we have in real life.”
Boseman, who starred as T’Challa in “Black Panther,” also won the award for best performance in a movie. Michael B. Jordan, who played the villain Erik Killmonger, won best villain.
“Stranger Things” was the top television honoree, winning four awards including a repeat win for best show.
The awards were handed out Saturday and were broadcast Monday night.
The show is known for bringing fresh talent to light, as well as acknowledging established celebrities in more quirky categories like best kiss and most frightened performance. Host Tiffany Haddish donned a variety of costumes throughout the ceremony, including nods to classic film and TV roles such as Holly Golightly from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Starlet from “The Carol Burnett Show.”
She kicked off the show with a “Black Panther” skit, foreshadowing the film’s big night, noting in her opening monologue that is it the first African-American film to earn more than $1 billion at the box office. Throughout the night, Haddish also parodied other hit films such as “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “A Quiet Place.”
“Black Panther,” about a king and virtuous superhero of the technologically-advanced nation of Wakanda, broke barriers earlier this year as the first Marvel film to feature a black lead. Its massive popularity overshadowed competing films like “Wonder Woman” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Haddish, who also won an award for her breakthrough role in “Girls Trip,” noted that she is the first black woman to host the awards show, which is in its 27th year.
The gay teen comedy “Love, Simon” won for best kiss for a scene between Nick Robinson and Keiynan Lonsdale.
While Robinson wasn’t there to accept the award, Lonsdale gave some encouraging words to LGBTQ youth.
“I just want to say to every kid,” he said. “You can live your dreams and kiss the one that you love no matter what gender.”
In addition to winning best show, kids of “Stranger Things” also won awards for most frightened performance, best musical moment and best performance for Millie Bobby Brown. The actress, who plays Eleven in the series, couldn’t make the event because of a broken kneecap. Brown accepted the award for best performance via satellite.
Other winners included Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom in “Riverdale” for scene stealer, Gal Gadot for best fight as Wonder Woman and the young cast of “It” for best on-screen team.
“Gaga: Fight Foot Two” won the award for best documentary. The Netflix feature followed Lady Gaga during the production of her fifth studio album “Joanne.”
Common presented Lena Waithe with the trailblazer award for her activism, writing and “deeply honest art.”
During her acceptance speech, Waithe paid tribute to “Paris is Burning,” the 1990 documentary released about the drag scene in New York during the late ’80s. She called those documented, many who aren’t alive anymore, “the bravest human beings that ever lived”
“I’m doing what we as a society should have done a long time ago and give them the glory and shine that they deserve,” she said.
Chris Pratt mixed humor and religious messages while accepting the show’s generation award, telling the crowd to “breathe. If you don’t, you’ll suffocate.”
He also urged fans to “learn to pray” and accept that they are imperfect.
The show also featured musical performances by Nick Jonas and Mustard, as well as rising stars and Beyoncé protégés Chloe x Halle.

The African Union (AU) has awarded the hosting right for the Pan African Music Initiative, All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), to Nigeria for another three years (2017-2019).
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Segun Adeyemi, Special Adviser to the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Lagos on Sunday.
The minister said the hosting right was given to the country following its successful hosting of the 2014-2016 editions.
He said that the award of the hosting right was conveyed in a letter written ton him by the Commissioner of Social Affairs at the AU Commission, Mrs Amira Elfadil.
Mohammed said the AU’s commissioner commended the growth and inclusiveness of AFRIMA by reaching out to `many musicians, music producers and creative arts practitioners in general’.
He said that Elfadi noted that between 2014 and 2016, during which Nigeria hosted three editions of AFRIMA, it “has become a very crucial event and movement of African musicians.’’
The minister said that the AU’s commissioner also noted that AFRIMA “allows them to establish synergies and work towards the development of Africa’s music and promotion of music in the continent and in the international arena.
“Based on this and other factors such as the willingness to create value and deepen the brand equity not only for Nigerians but also for Africans, the AU returned the hosting right of AFRIMA to Nigeria’’.
He said that government’s desire to retain the right was informed by the enthusiasm and sense of duty with which Nigerians embraced AFRIMA coupled with the prevailing international confidence in the present administration.
He said: “the African Union’s gracious concession to our request is beneficial for the creative sector in Nigeria and across Africa.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria is calling on state governments and corporate Nigeria to partner with it and the African Union in ensuring a
successful hosting of AFRIMA 2017 which will bring immense socio-economic benefits to the selected host city,’’ he said.
Mohammed disclosed that the 2017 edition of AFRIMA is scheduled to hold from Nov. 10 to Nov. 12.
Quoting the organiser of the event, the minister said that it would present to the continent a world-class programme that included activities such as the Africa Music Business Round Table on Nov. 10.
The round table would bring together big music brands, music producers and intellectual property experts to discuss the needed networks and infrastructure for an expanding economically-vibrant music industry in Africa.
“Other events are the AFRIMA Music Village: an evening of a non-stop open music festival of live performances from the African stars and nominees, with an expected audience of 40,000 people.
“The main Awards ceremony on November 12 will present a star-studded and world-class event with live performances and television broadcast to 84 countries on 109 television stations around the world.’’ (NAN)
Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has officially unveiled the names of 10 young Nigerian professionals who are recipients of 2017 edition of the annual Ten Outstanding Young Persons (JCI TOYP) Awards.
This announcement comes 7 months after the process began with nominations by members of the public and stages of screening, selection and voting, which narrowed the long nominees list down to 29 from about 160 nominations, and then the final 10.
For 34 years, Junior Chamber International (JCI), an organisation present in over 100 countries, has used the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Awards as a platform to identify, recognize and celebrate young professionals under the age of 40, who are doing outstanding work in their various communities and fields of endeavor, while also inspiring others to be young active citizens.

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, has appointed five African music professionals to the AFRIMA Academy Jury that consists of the 13-man Jury and the 100-man College of Voters in line with the awards objective of an all-inclusive participation of African professionals in its decision–making body last week.
The new appointees include: Mr. Charles Tabu,a citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who is a music executive, artiste development professional and the Chief Executive Officer of Jeericho Entertainment Ltd. Announcing the new appointees on behalf of the International Committee of AFRIMA, the Associate Producer, AFRIMA, Ms. Adenrele Niyi, revealed the restructuring of the AFRIMA Academy of Voters was transparent in adherence to AFRIMA values of FACE IT(Fairness, Authenticity, Credibility Excellence, Integrity and Transparency. “The selection of the new members of the AFRIMA Jury was carried out through consultations with AFRIMA Regional Directors and partners globally to ensure that the new members are qualified professionals who care deeply about Africa, and want to be pushers of change on the continent”.
Ms Niyi added, “There is a necessity to this restructuring initiative to allow us advance our transformation strategy and adhere to the leadership rotational structure in line with the AFRIMA objective of all-inclusive participation of professional Africans in the decision–making body of AFRIMA”.
The AFRIMA Jury is made of 13 members; two persons from each region in Africa; a representative each of the African Diaspora in Europe and North America respectively and a representative of the African Union Commission.
In partnership with the African Union, the All Africa Music Awards is a music property that recognizes, awards, promotes and preserves Africa’s rich music culture. AFRIMA is centred on the promotion and marketing of African music and is by far the largest gathering of such magnitude of stakeholders in Africa. It is scheduled to hold between November 9 and November 12 and it will be broadcast to over 80 countries around the world.

Senegalese movie, Felicite, emerged the biggest winner of the night at the 13th African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). The movie won six AMAAs, the most of all the contenders.
Felicite took home awards in three of the five major categories, winning best film, best actress in a leading role, and best supporting actor.
Nigerian historical drama, ’76, won three awards from its eight nominations.
In total Nigeria won nine awards, including the special recognition honour given to veteran comic-actor Nkem Owoh.
