To get started, simply follow these simple steps:

Subscribe to a data plan .
Dial *131*2*1# or SMS/Text REG to 131; to register for MTN Data Share, you will receive a PIN Just like your new bank ATM Card,you are required to change the PIN to a new PIN. To change the pin, Dial *131*2*5# or SMS/Text “Change Old Pin New Pin” to 131. E.g if your old pin is 1234 and you want use 2013 as your new pin, SMS “Change 1234 2013″ to 131.

Once you have successfully changed the pin, you are required to add beneficiaries (The MTN Number(s) you want to send the MB) to your MTN shared Data Bundle account. Do this by dialing *131*2*3# or Text/SMS Add <Telephone Number of the person> <PIN> to 131. You can add up to 5 beneficiaries.
e.g “Add 08033333333 2013″ send it to 131.

Once you have added beneficiaries, you will be able to share your available data bundle among the added beneficiaries by sending the Share <PIN> to 131 or simply dial *131*2*4#.
To check your data balance, text 2 to 131 to see how much of your MB you have used, as well as when your data plan would expire.

How Can I Transfer Megabytes To Another MTN line?
Make sure you have enough Megabytes on your MTN line if not you will get an error message.
Dial *131*2#  then choose ‘Register Data Service’. by click on Answer then Press 1, Once you choose that, a text will be sent to you that you have successfully registered on Mtn services and your default pin is ‘0000’. Just follow the instruction their and change your pin.
 

  • Click on Data Share
  • Add Beneficiary
  • Enter Beneficiaries Number
  • Enter the amount of Megabytes you want to transfer.
  • That’s it

NOTE: Should in case you get an invalid pin in the process of doing this, try it again as it may be a temporary network problem.
