PORT HARCOURT - It would be recalled that fight started when Helen Paul took jabs at some male comedians concerning their type of jokes and their outfits. She took shots at several comedians including Ali Baba, Gordons, Basketmouth and Omo Baba. Unfortunately for her Gordon was on backstage listening.
Following the stage controversy that recently ensued
between popular comedienne, Helen Paul and her male colleague, Gordons at the
AY Live show in Port Harcourt, Jara presenter has finally cleared
the air.
During her performance at the show, as Helen Paul fondly called "Tatafo", taunted fellow comedians like Ali Baba, Gordons and I Go Dye.
When it was Gordons turn to perform, he threw jibes back at Helen, prompting
the comedienne join him back on stage, which subsequently resulted to a mild
drama.
This caused host AY, to intervene by carrying Helen
off the stage, and since Gordons didnt want to stop, he made an announcement officially “banning” Gordons from
subsequent editions of “AY Live.”
But in an exclusive chat with Naij, Helen Paul described
the whole drama as part of the jokes meant to add spice to the colourful event.
Helen Paul has this to say;
“Bros Gordons is not just my colleague; he is my big brother o. Our priority at the event was to provoke laughter from the audience, and that was exactly what we did. Honestly, there is no more to it. All of us still played together backstage before leaving the event venue.”
“I also talked about Ali Baba on that stage, and he was still at the convocation ceremony of my theatre academy on Friday.”
“Ali Baba is a father to all of us, so it is impossible for me to insult him, but he understands that what we did was just meant to entertain the audience. This is not the first time that comedians make jokes about themselves on stage. We were just having fun, so people should not attach any string to it.”
