President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Ayuba Waba recently
stated that public officials guilty of corruption should be killed.
At a rally to support the anti-corruption fight of President
Buhari he said:
“If capital punishment is introduced and worked elsewhere to eliminate corruption, then we are for it.”
However, concerned residents observe that while death
penalty may discourage potential corrupt officials from involving in corrupt
practices, it may not be adequate to end corruption.
