Speaking on Friday while responding to questions from journalists at the ongoing annual ministerial briefing to mark the one year anniversary of Governor Akinwumi Ambode, Lagos State commissioner for transportation, Dayo Mobereola, has revealed that at least 100 officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were dismissed in the last one year.
The commissioner added that the officials were dismissed for various unpardonable offences bordering on unethical conducts. "Up to 100 LASTMA staff members have been dismissed while many were demoted," he said.
Mobereola, however, said that the state government had trained and retrained several LASTMA officials for effective service delivery. He advised LASTMA officials to carry out their duties within the law and shun every tendency to extort money from motorists in the state.
