Vin Diesel shared the first look of the cast of the upcoming “Fast and Furious 8.” This is an upcoming 2017 American action film directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Chris Morgan. It is the eighth installment in “The Fast and the Furious” franchise.
Fans will truly miss Brian O’Conner in the 8th installment of the “Fast and Furious,” franchise as Paul Walker’s presence would not be in the film, unlike in “Fast and Furious 7.” Ron Meyer explained during an exclusive interview with Variety, “F7” was done without Paul Walker, although with the help of computer generated images and Cody, the actors brother who joined them to be the actor’s double.
He admitted that, it would be hard for them to do the same thing for the “Fast and Furious 8.” It is tough to have the late actor return for his role. So they opt to leave Brian O ‘Conner out of “FF8.”
The few last series of the “Fast and Furious” have been filmed is about heists but this one “Fast and Furious 8” will have a completely different storyline. Some of the parts of this film are shot in exotic locations like “Mad Max” scene from Iceland, the production in Cuba and some stunt scenes in Cleveland. Apart from these places, it is also shot in New York according to Collider.
However, Meyer stated that the film will still symbolize Walker, in any way. He might not be in the film, though he will be there in other form, it may be through an image or not, he still can’t confirm. He won’t be there to act, or do stunts, the way they did in “FF7.”
The plan for the eighth installment was first announced in March 2015 when Diesel appeared on the show “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. He also revealed that that movie would be shot in New York. The movie started shooting soon after the release of “Furious 7″.
A lot of discussions are already going on the solo movies that will help the “Fast and Furious” brand alive even without the reunion of the star cast for the “one last job” every few years. Johnson has ready shown the interest in filming solo adventures with his character, Hobbs.
The “Fast and Furious 8” happens to be the first movie in a trilogy that will start up with a fresh story apart from “The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift”. This movie will not star Paul Walker who died in a car crash in November 30, 2013.
The entire star cast of the movie apart from Diesel and Johnson include Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Eva Mendes. “Fast 8” will hit the theaters in April 2017, and at the moment, it is in its second week of production now.
