UNITED ARE EUROPA LEAGUE WINNERS
Manchester United have done it! They’re back in the Champions League! Jose Mourinho’s on the pitch! His assistants are chucking him up and down in the air. This appears to mean a lot. His son runs on to the pitch and Mourinho bundles him to the floor in a huge embrace. United’s manager has got quite emotional here, the old softie.
Perhaps it would be wrong, after everything that has happened over the past few days, to describe it as a happy ending to José Mourinho’s first season at Manchester United. Yet there can be no doubt they will cherish these memories given what it means to the club: another trophy, a place in the Champions League and, more than anything, the opportunity to dedicate their latest prize to the people of the city.
The success in Sweden means Jose Mourinho has won three competitions in his first season in charge at Old Trafford after lifting the Community Shield last August and EFL Cup in February – both at Wembley.
The Reds have now completed the set of major trophies in the club’s illustrious history and secured a coveted place in next season's Champions League. After everything that’s happened, this is a welcome moment of positivity for the city of Manchester.
In an interview with Paul Pogba, he said;
“We knew we were going to play Europa League,” “Our goal was to win. We are very proud. Nobody can talk. They say we have a bad season but we have three trophies. The start was very important. We scored early. We started to play backwards. We scored the second goal with Miki and we controlled the game.”

United will now face either Juventus or Real Madrid – who meet each other in the Champions League final in Cardiff on 3 June – in the UEFA Super Cup on 8 August at Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia.
Tonight is a feelgood moment. It’s what football’s about. Manchester can celebrate tonight. We'll leave them to their celebrations. That’s all from Colossus Gists. Thanks for reading and emailing. Bye.
