Barcelona and Argentina forward, Lionel Messi, has agreed to a new five-year deal to stay on at the Nou Camp, according to a report by AFP.
Messi had allegedly been unwilling to commit as he was taking time to think it over. But eventually, he committed his future to the club with the dead containing a whopping £350m release clause.
The deal comes as a huge relief for the Blaugranas, who had run the risk of losing Messi for nothing once his current deal expires in 2018.
According to our source; Messi’s new pay packet will vary from year to year based on numerous factors. But it is believed he could leapfrog Chinese exports to become the world’s highest paid player, taking home in the region of £800k-a-week.
