Flagging off the distribution exercise of over 300 bags fertilizers at Abba town hall, in Njikoka Council Area, Governor Willie Obiano reiterated his commitment to agriculture as a top priority.
According to Governor Obiano, people's consciousness and interest in agriculture is on the rise, which he said is the way to go.
Speaking through his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, the unity of the pin heads in the Community is not in doubt which explains the reason behind the success stories recorded in ventures in the Community, calling on them to keep the light aglow.
Governor Obiano who called on others to emulate them, promised that the present administration will continue to do more in all sectors, including agriculture, saying that success stories are already manifesting in increased rice production, export of agricultural produce among others.
While pointing out that the more the production and commitment in agriculture, the better for citizenry, Governor Obiano canvased for more support for his administration to accomplish more.
One of the Party's major Stakeholders, and the Managing Director of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA, Chief Joe-Billy Ekwunife expressed confidence in Governor Obiano led administration, which he said are selfless, saying that the donation is a way to show appreciation and support to him and in turn give back to their Community.
Chief Ekwunife, on behalf of the Community, pledged commitment to Governor Obiano's government as well as their commitment to ensuring his return for a second tenure in office, calling on people and citizens in the State to rally round him.
Earlier, the President General of the Community, Engineer B.C Anaekwe, said the Governor need not campaign in the Community because of his visible work for them, and used the opportunity to announce and thank the Governor for the completion of their twenty million naira Community Project, for which the paper works for the second phase has been submitted and approved by the government.
While stressing that voters' card is the only requirement to qualify one to take part in the largese, he also announced the cancellation of the money levied on women in the Community for perimeter fencing of their secretariat.
In appreciation, one of the beneficiaries, Mr Raphael Obiora thanked Governor Obiano and those that masterminded the donation, promising to use it judiciously.
About eight Government appointees in the Community pulled resources together to purchase the fertilizer bags.
Symbolic distribution of the fertilizer bags by the Governor was part of the highlights of the distribution exercise.
The event took a different turn when one of the beneficiaries put to bed at the event venue and was later visited by the Governor.
